Where It All Began

periwinkle-comet was founded in 2009 by a group of friends who shared an unshakeable passion for the Canadian wilderness. What started as informal trips guiding visiting relatives through local trails gradually evolved into something much larger.

We noticed that many visitors to Canada wanted more than surface-level tourism. They craved genuine immersion in the landscapes they had dreamed about, led by people who truly understood the terrain and its rhythms.

Today, our team includes certified wilderness guides, marine naturalists, and outdoor educators who bring decades of combined experience to every expedition we lead.

Our Approach to Adventure

Every expedition we design balances challenge with accessibility. We believe transformative outdoor experiences should not be limited to elite athletes or seasoned adventurers. Our carefully paced itineraries welcome participants of varying fitness levels while still delivering meaningful encounters with wild places.

Safety forms the foundation of everything we do. Our guides hold certifications in wilderness first response, swift water rescue, and avalanche safety depending on their specialization. We conduct thorough risk assessments before every trip and maintain communication equipment that works in the most remote locations.

Beyond physical safety, we prioritize emotional wellbeing. The wilderness can feel overwhelming for first-time visitors, and our guides excel at reading group dynamics to ensure everyone feels supported throughout their journey.

What Drives Us Forward

The Canadian wilderness is not just our workplace; it is our home, our inspiration, and our responsibility. We operate under a simple belief: the more people who develop genuine connections with wild spaces, the more advocates these landscapes will have for generations to come.

This philosophy shapes every decision we make, from the partners we work with to the practices we adopt. We actively seek out local suppliers, Indigenous-owned businesses, and conservation organizations that share our values.

Authenticity

We share real experiences, not manufactured moments. What you see in our marketing reflects what you will actually encounter on the trail.

Stewardship

We leave places better than we found them. A portion of every booking supports habitat restoration and trail maintenance projects.

Community

The bonds formed on expedition often outlast the trip itself. Many of our guests return year after year, and some have become guides themselves.
